Moor, an organic peloid compound, contains a range of naturally healing ingredients - trace elements, minerals, phytohormones, and essential fatty acids.

Peloids have the remarkable ability to provide effective pain relief. These peloids are found in natural deposits such as mud or clay and are packed with beneficial minerals and organic substances. When used in spa treatments, they can work wonders for those seeking relief from various types of pain.

Understanding Peloid Therapy as a Massage Therapist, Esthetician, or Wellness Practitioner

When applied to the skin or diluted in a bath, peloids can offer a wide range of benefits, including improved circulation and pain relief.  Registered Massage Therapists in Ontario can incorporate the application of peloids (Moor) in the assessment and treatment of soft tissue and joint pain, within the scope of treatment that includes hydrotherapy.

Estheticians and spa therapists can leverage the benefits of peloid therapy to provide innovative and effective pain relief as part of a hydrotherapy bath, body wrap or localized treatment.

How Therapists Can Help
  1. Conducting Client Consultations: Before beginning any treatment, take the time to have a conversation with your client about their specific areas of localized pain and determine if peloid therapy is suitable for them. Listen attentively to their concerns, asking relevant questions to gather important details. Understanding their needs will guide you in developing a tailored treatment plan.

  2. Educating Clients: Take the time to explain the benefits of peloid therapy to your client and how it can address their specific concerns. Emphasize the natural-source ingredients and holistic nature of Moor Spa, instilling confidence in the therapeutic experience you are about to offer.
Performing Peloid Treatments with Moor Spa
  1. Prepare the treatment room. Create a serene space by adjusting lighting, playing soothing music, and ensuring the room is comfortably heated. You may wish to add one of Moor Spa's eight Aromabalancing Blends to your diffuser or a pillowcase.
  2. Cleanse and exfoliate. Before beginning the treatment, gently cleanse the client's skin using warmMoorSpa_group_indv-19 water and Moor Spa Shower Gel, to remove any impurities. If it is suitable for the client's specific needs, gently exfoliate with Moor Spa Body Scrub Cream. This promotes better absorption of products to enhance efficacy. Dry brushing with a Moor Spa Body Brush or a Salt Glow Treatment also offers effective exfoliation.
  3. Apply Moor Spa Complete Oil. Prepare the skin by applying this emulsion of high-grade plant oils and moor water to the desired treatment area; wait for one or two minutes for the oil to fully absorb into the skin.
  4. Apply Moor Spa Body Mask. Using a soft brush or gloved hand, apply this 100% pure Moor complex to the desired treatment area. Cover with warm, damp gauze or a soft plastic sheet or film so the mask does not dry. Allow the mask to remain on the skin for the recommended duration, 20-30 minutes. During this time, offer your client a soothing neck, shoulder, or scalp massage with Moor Spa Tension Balm, or a hand or foot massage with Moor Spa Body Lotion.
  5. Remove mask and hydrate. After the appropriate time has passed, remove the body mask using warm towels for small areas, or guide your client to the shower. Follow up with Moor Spa Body Lotion, to replenish moisture and leave the skin nourished and glowing.
  6. Enhance targeted pain relief. Reflecting on your Client Consultation, is your client's pain more likely muscle or joint based?
    • If your client's pain is the result of muscular tension or headaches including migraines, apply Moor Spa Tension Balm.
    • If your client is experiencing muscle pain due to recent physical exertion and potential lactic acid accumulation, choose to apply Moor Spa Comfort Gel with Lactigo.
    • To support pain relief in the joints or connective tissues, gently massage Moor Spa Joint Balm into the desired area.
